The BLOM Bank Egypt acquisition is the perfect strategic fit for these objectives, expanding Bank ABC’s presence in a deep and relatively underbanked market with significant growth opportunities.
BLOM Bank Egypt customers will receive the equivalent Bank ABC card.
Due to the large volumes of cards, they will be delivered in batches from the end of November to the end of January 2024. If you have not received your replacement Bank ABC card by then, please visit your branch.
The bank will deliver cards to the delivery address we have registered for each customer. If a customer cannot be reached, their card will be delivered to their branch.
You can activate your Bank ABC card in advance of it going live at any ATM on the Bank ABC Egypt network. To find the nearest ATM to you click here.
You should continue using your existing BLOM Bank Egypt card until the ‘go live’ date of your replacement card - as outlined below. After this point your old BLOM Bank Egypt card will be deactivated.
Replacement Bank ABC Credit cards will go live 1st February 2024.
Replacement Bank ABC Debit cards will go live at a later date, together with all your other Bank ABC banking services. We will let you know when that will be here – well in advance of services being migrated to Bank ABC Egypt.
For every BLOM Bank Egypt card you currently hold, you will receive the equivalent Bank ABC card. Many of the key features will be the same, in addition to a number of attractive benefits. Yes, the pricing and fees are the same.
Any unused points will be transferred at the equivalent value to the Bank ABC card rewards scheme once it is available to you.

Yes. Customers will get a new Bank ABC replacement card for every active credit card they have with BLOM Bank Egypt.
Instead of receiving multiple debit cards, customers will get a replacement that is equivalent to their most premium card, or the most recently issued card. This will ensure customers retain their key debit card features. This replacement debit card can be used to access multiple Bank ABC accounts at Bank ABC ATMs.
Due to the unique way credit cards work, we are able to migrate this service earlier. Doing this does not affect the migration of remaining BLOM Bank Egypt services for customers and means they can benefit from their new Bank ABC credit card service early.
We are in the final stages of planning the integration of both banks. In the coming weeks we will be able to confirm when all BLOM Bank customers and their banking services will switch to Bank ABC Egypt. We will notify customers here, as well as write to them to confirm this date and their new account numbers well in advance.

Bank ABC Egypt has acquired BLOM Bank Egypt and both have now combined into a single legal entity. We are now working to combine the best of both institutions to create an exciting bank for the future. Our future, fully combined bank, will serve all customers together with an enhanced range of services and larger branch and ATM network.
We expect to fully integrate both banks by the end of the first quarter of 2024. We will notify customers of the launch date for our fully combined bank well in advance.

As part of our integration process, BLOM Bank Egypt customers and their accounts will be moved onto the Bank ABC Egypt platform, providing access to an enhanced range of services from our bank of the future. BLOM bank retail customers will be migrated when our integration completes. BLOM Bank Egypt corporate customers will be migrated earlier in a phased approach and will be advised well in advance.
Any changes to your current banking relationships, or products with the bank will be communicated well in advance. Minimising disruption for our customers is a top priority and we will ensure there is minimal interruption in service.
Our bank of the future will offer a larger network of branches and ATMs to support customers. Customers of both banks can continue to access services at their existing branches and ATMs as normal while we work to integrate both into a combined network. As part of our integration BLOM Bank Egypt branches and ATMs will be rebranded to Bank ABC in the coming months (they will however continue to serve BLOM Bank Egypt customers).
To support the process of integration, four branches will be adapted to serve customers of both banks under one roof. This will begin shortly after our legal merger at the following branches:
Bank ABC Egypt and BLOM Bank Egypt customers can now use either bank’s ATM network free of charge.
There are no current plans to close branches. Having a larger branch network to serve more customers is one of the key benefits of our future bank. As part of our normal business practice, we will continue to review and optimise our branch network in line with customer demand.

Customers can continue to use their existing debit and credit cards as normal. As part of our integration, BLOM Bank Egypt debit and credit cards will be rebranded to Bank ABC in the coming months however they will continue to be linked to the same accounts and provide access to the same services. Any changes will be communicated well in advance.
Yes. Customers will be able to inquire about their historical balances and transactions the same as before.
Customers can continue to use their existing cheque books as normal. BLOM Bank Egypt customers will eventually be provided with Bank ABC branded cheque books as part of the rebranding process - these will still be linked to their existing banking accounts. Outstanding cheques will still be valid and the beneficiary can cash them without any specific implication.

Customers can still access the same branches and ATMs as normal. Cards provided by either BLOM Bank Egypt or ABC Egypt can be used to make cash withdrawals free of charge at any Bank ABC branded ATM. We will also be adapting some branches to serve both sets of customers in the coming months – we’ll let you know when this happens. When our integration completes all customers will have access to a larger combined network of branches and ATMs.

BLOM Bank Egypt services are being rebranded to Bank ABC as part of the ongoing integration of both banks. All new, renewal and replacement BLOM Bank Egypt cards are now branded Bank ABC. BLOM Bank Egypt and Bank ABC Egypt are in the process of integrating, their services (including cards) have not yet combined and remain separate. You will still get all the regular services and benefits of your BLOM Bank Egypt card through your new rebranded ABC card.
The website will rebrand to Bank ABC but will still support customers with existing BLOM Bank Egypt services – you can also access our dedicated website informing you about the merger from here.
When our full integration is complete, all customers will be supported by the Bank ABC Egypt website.
BLOM Connect and BLOM Wallet have been rebranded to Bank ABC, the service they provide and how they are accessed will not change as part of the rebranding process.
