Moving BLOM customers to Bank ABC + receiving/activating cards



Our goal is to offer the best banking experience possible. While we add the finishing touches to our exciting bank of the future, it’s time to prepare BLOM Bank Egypt customers for their banking and services switching to Bank ABC Egypt.

To make things as smooth possible, we’ll start sending BLOM Bank Egypt debit and credit card customers replacement Bank ABC cards now – well before they are needed. [See details below].

BLOM Bank Egypt customers and their full banking services will switch to Bank ABC Egypt early next year – the exact date will be announced here in a few weeks.

Receiving and activating Bank ABC cards

Before BLOM Bank Egypt customers switch to Bank ABC Egypt, they will be sent their replacement Bank ABC debit and credit cards. These cards cannot be used before their scheduled ‘go live’ date (see below).


    What happens when
    All replacement Bank ABC credit cards have now been sent by courier to BLOM Bank Egypt customers to their registered address . If the courier was unable to reach the customer – the card will be sent to the customer’s branch to collect

    Credit cards
    BLOM Customers will be able to use their new Bank ABC credit cards from 1st February 2024.  

  • Receiving your new Bank ABC credit card:
    All replacement Bank ABC credit cards have now been sent by courier to BLOM Bank Egypt customers to their registered address . If the courier was unable to reach the customer – the card will be sent to the customer’s branch to collect
  • When to start using your new credit card (and stop using your old one) You can only start using your new Bank ABC credit card from the 1st Feb 2024. Keep using your existing BLOM Bank Egypt credit card from now until up until 31st January. Please activate your Bank ABC card now so it is ready to use.
  • Repaying your credit card balance
    To enable the migration, credit card repayments for BLOM Bank Egypt credit cards will be blocked from the 29th January 2024 until 1st February 2024. Access to ABC Connect will also be blocked during this period. Any additional charges for repayments affected by these changes will be reversed.

    Any remaining balance on your BLOM Bank Egypt credit card will be automatically transferred to your Bank ABC card. From this date repayments can only be made to your Bank ABC credit card via Bank ABC branches, ATMs and ABC Digital – or via Fawry.
Debit cards
BLOM Customers will not be able to use their new debit cards until the rest of their banking services switch to Bank ABC Egypt. We will confirm this date in the coming weeks here.

What do customers need to do
Check the bank has their correct delivery address and mobile number – this can be done at their branch. As part of the ATM card activation process, customers will need to receive an OTP message from the bank.

Customers should activate their card immediately. Customers can set their PIN and activate their card on any ATM on the Bank ABC Network. To find the nearest ATM, click here.

Customers will be notified well in advance of the date the rest of their banking services switch to Bank ABC Egypt and their new Bank ABC debit cards can be used.

Activating Bank ABC cards at ATMs

  • Insert the debit/credit Card into an ATM on the Bank ABC network. Find your nearest ATM here
  • Select language
  • Click on ‘PIN SET’
  • Enter OTP received on your mobile when asked: ‘Please enter your OTP that has been sent to your registered mobile number’
  • Enter new four digit PIN when asked: ‘Please enter 4 digit pin – this will be new pin’
  • Re-enter the four digit PIN when asked: ‘Please re-enter the new pin to confirm that you have entered the correct number’
  • Once complete, the ATM screen will display: ‘Your pin has been set successfully and your card has been activated’
