How can I get details of my new Bank ABC account(s)?

You can get the full details of new accounts from any Bank ABC branch now using your National ID or passport. We’ll also send some of your new customer info to your registered phone number before your new Bank ABC account goes live 25th February 2024 (this will only be sent for accounts used for business purposes). If you already use internet banking, you can log into ABC Digital when your accounts switch to Bank ABC on the 25th February 2024 and view them there.

How can I receive payments to my new account?

We will send you your customer ID by SMS, you can share this with anyone sending you money to ensure it is credited to your new Bank ABC account. Please visit your branch to receive your full account details to help you manage all payments you wish to make.

If you already use internet banking, you can log into ABC Digital when your accounts switch to Bank ABC on the 25th February 2024 to view your new accounts and manage payments.

When and how do I repay my Bank ABC credit card?

Repayments be made via Bank ABC branches and ATMs, ABC digital or Fawry.

When should I stop using my BLOM Bank Egypt credit card? When should I stop using my BLOM Bank Egypt credit card?

Keep using your existing BLOM Bank Egypt credit card from now until up until 31st January 2024. You can use your new Bank ABC credit card from 1st February 2024.

How do I activate my new replacement Bank ABC debit/credit card?

  • Insert the debit/credit Card into an ATM on the Bank ABC network. Find your nearest ATM here
  • Select language
  • Click on ‘PIN SET’
  • Enter OTP received on your mobile when asked: ‘Please enter your OTP that has been sent to your registered mobile number’
  • Enter new four digit PIN when asked: ‘Please enter 4 digit pin – this will be new pin’
  • Re-enter the four digit PIN when asked: ‘Please re-enter the new pin to confirm that you have entered the correct number’
  • Once complete, the ATM screen will display: ‘Your pin has been set successfully and your card has been activated’

If customers face any difficulties activating their cards at an ATM, they should call our Contact Centre on: 19123.

What cards will I receive from Bank ABC Egypt

BLOM Bank Egypt customers will receive the equivalent Bank ABC card.

What if I don’t receive a replacement Bank ABC debit or credit card?

Due to the large volumes of cards, they will be delivered in batches from the end of November to the end of January 2024. If you have not received your replacement Bank ABC card by then, please visit your branch.

The bank will deliver cards to the delivery address we have registered for each customer. If a customer cannot be reached, their card will be delivered to their branch.

How do I activate my Bank ABC debit/credit?

You can activate your Bank ABC card in advance of it going live at any ATM on the Bank ABC Egypt network. To find the nearest ATM to you click here.

When can I start using my replacement Bank ABC debit/credit card?

You should continue using your existing BLOM Bank Egypt card until the ‘go live’ date of your replacement card - as outlined below. After this point your old BLOM Bank Egypt card will be deactivated.

Replacement Bank ABC Credit cards will go live 1st February 2024.

Replacement Bank ABC Debit cards will go live 25th February 2024.

Will my replacement card offer the same features as my old BLOM Bank card?

For every BLOM Bank Egypt card you currently hold, you will receive the equivalent Bank ABC card. Many of the key features will be the same, in addition to a number of attractive benefits. Are the pricing and fees for Bank ABC cards the same as existing BLOM Bank Egypt cards?

What happens to BLOM Points when customers switch to Bank ABC cards?

A new, improved loyalty scheme is currently being developed for Bank ABC Egypt for both debit and credit cards customers – until this is ready, only credit card customers will be able to earn and redeem points when their services switch to Bank ABC using ABC Rewards Plus+.

BLOM Bank Egypt debit cards will stop accruing points 24th Dec 2023 and existing points must be redeemed by 24th Jan 2024.

If customers hold a BLOM BANK Egypt debit and credit card, all points will be combined and migrated at the same value to the customer’s new Bank ABC credit card. Point are accumulated through credit card transactions only.

Customers with just a credit card will have any existing points migrated at the same value to their new Bank ABC credit card.

I have multiple credit cards with BLOM Bank Egypt – will I get the same number of replacement Bank ABC cards?

Yes. Customers will get a new Bank ABC replacement card for every active credit card they have with BLOM Bank Egypt.

I have multiple debit cards with BLOM Bank Egypt – will I get the same number of replacement Bank ABC cards?

Instead of receiving multiple debit cards, customers will get a replacement that is equivalent to their most premium card, or the most recently issued card. This will ensure customers retain their key debit card features. This replacement debit card can be used to access multiple Bank ABC accounts at Bank ABC ATMs.

Why can BLOM Bank Egypt customers use their replacement Bank ABC credit cards earlier than their replacement debit cards?

Due to the unique way credit cards work, we are able to migrate this service earlier. Doing this does not affect the migration of remaining BLOM Bank Egypt services for customers and means they can benefit from their new Bank ABC credit card service early.

When and how will customers find out the date their BLOM Bank Egypt services migrate to Bank ABC?

We are in the final stages of planning the integration of both banks. In the coming weeks we will be able to confirm when all BLOM Bank customers and their banking services will switch to Bank ABC Egypt. We will notify customers here, as well as write to them to confirm this date and their new account numbers well in advance.

We are committed to making sure customers and their services migrate to Bank ABC Egypt with the minimum of disruption. Any future changes will be communicated well in advance to make sure customers are fully prepared. Full details and updates will be communicated here on a regular basis.

Minimising disruption for our customers is a top priority. Any changes to your current products and services with the bank will be communicated well in advance.

Will pricing and fees change?

As part of our integration, we have harmonised pricing and fees on products across both banks to remain competitive in the market.

Can customers still request additional products from their existing bank?

Both banks remain open for business and customers can continue to access additional products and services as normal.

Can BLOM Bank Egypt customers and Bank ABC customers now access services from either bank?

Only if an account is already setup at both banks, otherwise they will be treated like a new customer with the normal onboarding process followed. While we work to integrate both banks, each will continue to serve their existing customers as normal.

As part of our integration, we will harmonise products, fees and processes early on, so they are the same for all customers.

Will my account and banking services be moved and if so, when will this happen?

As part of our integration process, BLOM Bank Egypt customers and their accounts will be moved onto the Bank ABC Egypt platform, providing access to an enhanced range of services from our bank of the future. BLOM bank retail customers will be migrated when our integration completes. BLOM Bank Egypt corporate customers will be migrated earlier in a phased approach and will be advised well in advance.

Minimising disruption for our customers is a top priority and we will ensure there is minimal interruption in service.

What will happen to branches and ATMs?

Our bank of the future will offer a larger network of branches and ATMs to support customers. Customers of both banks can continue to access services at their existing branches and ATMs as normal while we work to integrate both into a combined network.

Bank ABC Egypt and BLOM Bank Egypt customers can use either bank’s ATM network free of charge.

Will some branches close?

There are no current plans to close branches. Having a larger branch network to serve more customers is one of the key benefits of our future bank. As part of our normal business practice, we will continue to review and optimise our branch network in line with customer demand.

Will there be changes to branches working hours?

No. You can continue to access your branch services as normal.

Is it still possible to request historical account statements?

Yes. Customers will be able to inquire about their historical balances and transactions the same as before.

Will cheque books change?

Customers can continue to use their existing cheque books as normal. There will be no disruption to the cheque honoring process as a result of your accounts being migrated to Bank ABC.

You can only request a new Bank ABC cheque book from your branch after your account moves to Bank ABC. If you prefer, you can continue using your BLOM Bank Egypt cheque book until it runs out, then request a Bank ABC replacement.

Outstanding cheques will still be valid and the beneficiary can cash them without any specific implication.

What will happen to the BLOM Bank Egypt brand?

As part of our integration, the Bank ABC brand will replace the BLOM Bank Egypt brand. BLOM Bank Egypt customers will still be able to access their banking services as normal until they are fully migrated to Bank ABC Egypt.

I have products with both banks, is there anything I need to do?

No. You can continue to access services of either bank as normal. We will inform you of any future changes well in advance.
